Commissions

Type of commissions

commercial (work for reproduction or publication) and personal

I paint places which are dear to you, be they landscapes, specific trees and places in nature, buildings/places in towns and villages. I have a lot of experience of painting animals and people although I don’t generally do portraits I am happy to discuss the option of encorporating specific people and animals into your commission.

Consultation

Commissioned work is discussed on an individual basis and costs may vary depending on time needed to research the subject and depending on the specific materials and dimensions, to best execute the work required. It is good to have the opportunity to really understand exactly what is required and why, so the final piece can really tell its story.

I’m happy to discuss your vision/ideas around a commission before you commit. Once you decide to go ahead with a commission communications are all confirmed via email.

Brief & contract

We will etablish this together following a consultation via email and on the phone. We will discuss the size, medium composition, content, colour palette and mood and I will advise. Once you are happy with the brief I will start work. There is an upfront payment of 30% to initiate the work with final 70% payment due on delivery.

Budget

It is good to know if you have a specific budget in mind so I can give you a realistic idea of what is possible. Please refer to the table below for a rough idea of pricing.

Timeframe

This can vary depending on the nature of the work commissioned, if you have a specific date for which the piece is required I will let you know whether I can meet that date and these details will be written in to the brief and contract.

Framing

I work with an excellent framer and can advise on this as required. I can arrange the framing which is an additional cost.

Payment and delivery

Payment should be made via bank transfer. I can deliver locally, all other deliveries will be made via Parcel Force/Special delivery.
